Questions

What people ask about the blog

Short answers, with the long version linked. Anything not here, ask us on live chat or by email and a person answers, usually the same business day.

Who writes the DEVIQO blog?

The designers, writers and support people who build and look after the websites, and every piece carries the name of whoever wrote it. Nothing here is bought in from an agency or generated to fill a schedule. About DEVIQO is who we are and why the offer is shaped the way it is.

How often is something new published?

One piece a week, on a Tuesday. Anything dated in the future is written and scheduled rather than promised, and it’s marked as such in the list above.

Do I have to be a customer to use any of this?

No. Every article is free, complete and open, there’s nothing to sign up for and no part of it is held back for a download. Several of them tell you how to do a job we would happily charge for.

Can I get it by email or in a reader?

Both. The newsletter form at the foot of this page sends one email a week with the new piece in it, and the RSS feed carries the same thing if you keep a reader.

What does DEVIQO sell?

Websites for small businesses. We design the site, write it and put it online in seven days. Today you pay $1 for the website plus your first month of hosting. After that hosting is $8.99 a month, billed on the same date each month until you cancel, and you can cancel in any month. The same build is openly sold at $1,500, which is what a US agency charges for a small business site of this size. That hosting is the only bill after the first day: it carries a mailbox on your own name, the SSL certificate, a nightly backup and your domain run for you. The .com is included on the Complete plan at $18.99 a month. On Basic at $8.99 a month the name is registered in your own name and run for you, and the registry’s own annual fee for it, about $12 a year, is billed separately at cost. There’s no contract and you can stop any month. What you get for the dollar is set out page by page.
