The short version #
You pay $1 for the website plus your first month of hosting, and a team designs, writes and builds your website. You see it privately first. When you are happy it goes live at your own domain.
This document is the fulfillment half of the arrangement: what arrives, and when. The money half is on the billing and subscription page, what is refunded and how to stop is in the refunds and cancellation policy, and the contract that governs all three is the terms of service. Today you pay $1 for the website plus your first month of hosting. After that hosting is $8.99 a month, billed on the same date each month until you cancel, and you can cancel in any month.
What you are buying #
Two separate things, delivered in two different ways, and they get mixed up constantly:
| What it is | What you pay | How it is delivered |
|---|---|---|
| The build | $1, once, taken when you order. The same build is openly sold at $1,500, which is what a US agency charges for a small business site of this size. | A finished website, published at your own domain, once. Delivery is complete on the day it goes live. |
| The hosting | $8.99 a month on Basic, or $18.99 a month on Complete, billed monthly until you cancel. | A service delivered continuously, every day of every month it runs. It is paid from the day you order and serves your site from go-live day. |
| Your domain name | Included in the monthly on Complete. On Basic the registry’s own annual fee, about $12 a year for a .com, is billed at cost. | Registered with you named as the registrant, as soon as the name is agreed, which is normally well before the site itself is finished. |
Both prices are in USD. Neither is a deposit on the other, and there is no third charge.
The $1 is the price of the build, not a trial and not a signing fee. What it covers in contract language is section 4 of the terms of service, and what the monthly covers is section 6.
What is delivered, item by item #
A real website with your words on it, at your own name, with a mailbox and a login. Not a template you have to fill in yourself.
For the $1, delivered on go-live day:
- up to ten pages, designed for phones and for desktops, laid out by a person;
- the words on those pages, written by our team from your questionnaire answers;
- photographs, either yours or ones we source and license for use on your site;
- the contact and inquiry forms, wired to your inbox and tested before we publish;
- your domain found and registered in your own name, and pointed at the site;
- an SSL certificate, so the site loads over a secure connection from the first minute;
- a mailbox on your own domain, with the mail records configured for you;
- the site submitted so search engines can find it, and the basic listing details set;
- a login to the dashboard, where you can change any of it yourself;
- a private preview link before any of it is public, and the changes you ask for at that stage.
Delivery of the build is complete when the site answers on your own domain and your dashboard login works. Nothing further is owed for the build after that day, and nothing further is charged for it either.
Accessibility, on your site and on ours
There is no federal regulation telling a private business what its website has to meet. The Department of Justice made a rule in 2024, but it binds state and local government rather than businesses, and it withdrew the rulemaking that would have covered businesses. The courts of appeal have not agreed on when a commercial website is covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act at all. What the market runs on is the standard that settlements, consent decrees and procurement rules keep pointing at, and that is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines at level AA.
We are not going to wait for a rule. We build every site to WCAG 2.2 Level AA, which is the current version of that standard and which contains everything in the 2.1 version courts treat as the floor. That is a commitment about how we build, and it does not depend on whether a court would hold your website covered.
Every site is checked before it goes live for color contrast, tap target size, headings in a sensible order, text alternatives on every meaningful image, a form that can be completed with a keyboard and announced properly by a screen reader, a visible focus indicator on everything you can reach with a keyboard, and a layout that holds at three widths down to 360 pixels. This site is built to the same standard.
We check, and we do not certify. Nobody can promise a website is free of accessibility barriers, least of all after a year of a customer editing it, and an agency that offers you a certificate or an overlay widget as a guarantee is selling you something that has not worked out well for the businesses that bought it. What we will not do is claim compliance we have not tested for.
If you hit a barrier on this site, or on one we built, email [email protected] with the page and what happened. It is treated as a fault in what we delivered, which means section 13 applies and there is no charge to fix it.
When it is delivered #
- Day 0, you order and send the brief You pay for the website and your first month of hosting by card through Stripe, then answer the questionnaire and send anything only you have: a logo, photographs, certificates, license numbers, a product list. The seven days start from the day that arrives complete, not from the day you first got in touch.
- The next business day, we read it A named designer reads the brief. If anything is unclear they write to you, by email, the same day.
- Days 1 to 5, we build it A designer and a writer work on the site. There is nothing for you to install, approve or configure in this stretch, and no software is sent to you.
- Around day 5, the private preview The finished site goes on a preview link that only you have. You go through it and tell us what to change. Nothing is public and nothing is indexed.
- Around day 7, it goes live We make your changes, publish the site at your own domain with the certificate in place and the mailbox working, and email you the dashboard login. This is the day the build is delivered.
- The hosting carries on Your first month of hosting is paid when you order, together with the $1, and the monthly is taken on that date every month afterwards until you cancel. If you change your mind before go-live, the $1 and that first month both come back in full.
We tell you the date at each step rather than leaving you to guess, and every one of those messages is in writing so you keep the record. If you ordered on the 31st, the monthly is taken on the last day of shorter months, which is set out in section 8 of the terms of service.
What “live in seven days” commits us to #
Seven days is a target we hit for most customers, counted from your completed questionnaire. It is not a guarantee, and we would rather write that here than in small print.
Precisely what the claim means, so nobody has to interpret it:
| The question | The answer |
|---|---|
| Seven days from what? | From the day your completed questionnaire and your material reach us, not from the day you order or first ask about it. |
| Calendar days or business days? | Calendar days. |
| A guarantee? | No. It is a target, and there is no credit attached to missing it. The credit in the service level document is for uptime once the site is live, and not for the build. |
| What makes it longer? | Material arriving late, a store with a large product list, or a change of direction halfway through. We tell you the new date as soon as we know it. |
| What if I am not ready? | Nothing bad happens. The clock has not started, no monthly is running, and the build waits for you. |
We would rather quote a date we can hit than a number that reads well in an advertisement.
Nothing is shipped #
There is no parcel, no courier, no tracking number and no shipping cost, because there is nothing physical in any of this.
Everything we sell is delivered electronically:
- The website is delivered by being published at your own domain, where anyone with the address can reach it.
- The dashboard login is delivered to the email address on your account.
- The mailbox is delivered by the mail records being set, and works from your own device or in a browser.
- Your receipt and every invoice are delivered by email and kept in the dashboard for you to download.
- Your export, if you ask for one, is delivered as a download link, within two business days.
So there is no shipping address to give us, no shipping fee, no delivery window to be in for, and no customs or duty on anything. If a card issuer or a bank asks you for proof of delivery, the site answering at your domain and the emails confirming each step are what that proof looks like here.
Where we deliver #
We sell to businesses in the United States. Your website, your mailbox and your backups are hosted in the United States, and our team works US business hours, Monday through Friday, on Eastern time.
The site we build is reachable from anywhere in the world, as every website is, and your own customers can be anywhere. That is a different question from who we sell to, and it changes nothing about this policy.
We do not currently take orders from outside the United States. If you are outside it and want a site anyway, write to us and we will tell you up front whether we can do it rather than take the money and find out.
What we will not build or host
There are trades we turn down, and it is fairer to say so here than to have you find out at the questionnaire. Almost every ordinary small business is fine. The ones that are not are adult content, gambling without the license your state requires, regulated financial promotions, and anything needing a license or registration you do not hold. Section 3 of the acceptable use policy is the full list, and it applies to what you publish afterwards as much as to what we build. If you are not sure, one line describing what you sell is enough for us to tell you before you order.
Nothing we sell is exported, since there is nothing physical to export and we sell only inside the United States. If a sanctions list, a court or a regulator prevents us from dealing with someone, we do not deal with them, and we say so rather than going quiet.
If we are late #
If we are going to miss the seventh day, you hear it from us before the seventh day, with the reason and a new date. We do not go quiet and hope you are not counting.
- You can wait for the new date, and most people do.
- You can cancel the build there and then and have the $1 and your first month back in full, however much work we have already done. That right is in section 2 of the refunds and cancellation policy and it is not conditional on us being late.
- Nothing more is charged while we are late. The only payment taken is the website and your first month, and both come back in full if you cancel before the site is live.
If we cannot take the work on at all, we say so and refund everything you have paid. You never owe us anything for a site that never went live.
If we are waiting on you #
We cannot deliver a website about your business without your business in it. If we have asked you for something and heard nothing for 60 days, we email you twice and then close the build.
Closing a build costs you nothing. If the site never went live, the $1 comes back and there is no monthly to stop, because none started. Come back later and we pick it up where it stopped at no extra charge. This is section 5 of the terms of service.
What is delivered every month after that #
The monthly is not a fee for having bought something once. It buys a service that is delivered every day, and it stops the moment you tell it to.
From go-live day, and for every day of every month you pay for, we deliver:
- your site on our servers, with a content delivery network in front of it;
- an SSL certificate, issued and replaced before it can expire;
- a firewall, a daily malware scan and the server software patched for you;
- a full backup every night, kept for 30 days on Basic and 90 days on Complete, and put back on request at no charge;
- monitoring that checks the site every minute from several places;
- your mailbox or mailboxes on your own domain, with spam filtering;
- the DNS run for you, and the domain renewal handled while your plan is running;
- the dashboard, so you can change the site yourself whenever you want;
- changes you send us to make, within the allowance on your plan;
- our team on live chat and email, with no charge for an incident or a restore.
What we commit to on uptime, on how fast we answer and on how quickly a backup comes back is set out in the service level document, together with the credit if we miss it. The difference between the two plans is in section 7 of the terms of service.
Delivery of the hosting stops at the end of the last month you have paid for. Nothing is taken after that and nothing is deleted on that day either: the timeline is in section 6 of the refunds and cancellation policy.
Your domain and your mailbox #
The domain is registered with you named as the registrant as soon as the name is agreed, which is normally well before the site itself is finished. From that moment it is legally yours whatever happens to your plan.
The .com is included on the Complete plan at $18.99 a month. On Basic at $8.99 a month the name is registered in your own name and run for you, and the registry’s own annual fee for it, about $12 a year, is billed separately at cost.
A new domain does not always resolve everywhere in the world the same afternoon. Where a name has to move to us from another registrar, or where DNS has to propagate, we tell you the realistic window rather than promising an instant switch, and we schedule the change so your existing site and email do not go dark in the middle of a working day.
The mailbox is delivered at the same time as the site and is ready to send and receive from go-live day. How names are registered and renewed here is on the domain names page, and what the mailbox can do is on the business email page.
What is not included #
Listed here so that nobody discovers it after paying:
- No printed material. No business cards, no signage, no brochures, nothing physical of any kind.
- No advertising spend. We do not run or pay for ads, and the monthly does not include any.
- No guaranteed search ranking. We build the site so it can be found and we set the listings up, but nobody can promise a position on a search engine.
- No legal drafting for your own site. We build the pages a small business needs, and the words in your own terms, privacy policy and refund policy are yours to settle.
- No software licenses of ours. Our editor, dashboard, templates and source code stay ours, which is section 13 of the terms of service. Your content, your images and your data are yours and leave with you.
- No unlimited redesign. Changes are covered on the allowance on your plan. A second website, or a fresh design every other week, is a new build and we say so and quote before doing anything.
If what we delivered is wrong #
Tell us and we fix it. A mistake in what we built, a typo we introduced, a form that does not send, a page that does not load on a phone: none of those are chargeable and most are fixed the same day. You do not need to be on a particular plan and you do not need to argue for it.
If the site is down rather than wrong, the service level document says what we commit to and what credit is due. If you want your money back rather than a fix, the refunds and cancellation policy says what comes back and when. If you want to complain about how any of it was handled, section 21 of the terms of service sets out the route: acknowledged within one business day, answered properly within ten.
Please come to us before going to your bank. A chargeback takes weeks and freezes the account while it runs, which puts your website offline over something we would usually have fixed the same afternoon.

Every one of those routes leaves you with a written record of what was agreed, which is the point of working the way we do.
Common questions about delivery #
The six things people ask before they order, rather than after.
Is anything mailed to me?
No. There is nothing physical in this at all, so there is no shipping address to give, no shipping cost, no carrier and no tracking number. Your website is delivered at your own domain on the internet, your login is delivered by email, and your invoices are delivered in the dashboard. Section 6 says so in the terms a card issuer asks about.
When does the monthly billing start?
On the day you order. The first month of hosting is paid together with the website, and that date becomes your billing date every month afterwards. Today you pay $1 for the website plus your first month of hosting. After that hosting is $8.99 a month, billed on the same date each month until you cancel, and you can cancel in any month. The full billing terms are on the billing and subscription page.
What if the seven days runs over?
Seven days is the target we hit for most customers, measured from the day your completed questionnaire and material arrive, and it is not a guarantee. If we are going to be late we email you before the seventh day with the reason and a new date, and you can cancel the build at that point and have the $1 back in full. Section 8 sets it out in full.
Do I see the site before the public does?
Always. It goes on a private preview link that only you have, you tell us what to change, we change it, and nothing is published at your own domain until you say go. Delivery is not something that happens to you without warning: section 4 sets out the order things happen in.
What am I paying the monthly for?
Hosting, which is a service delivered continuously rather than a thing handed over once: the servers, the certificate, the network, the nightly backups, the mailbox and the monitoring, every day of every month it runs. What we commit to on uptime and response times is in the service level document, and section 10 lists what arrives each month.
Can I get everything back out again if I leave?
Yes, free, at any time, and not only when you are leaving. Every page as HTML with its images, the copy as a document, your photographs at full size, and your products, orders, inquiries, bookings and customer list as spreadsheets, plus your mailbox and DNS settings. It takes two business days. The list is in section 7 of the refunds and cancellation policy.
Waiting on something, or not sure where it is?
Ask on live chat and someone will tell you the date rather than a stage name. Nothing here is tracked by a parcel number, so a question is the fastest way to find out.
