Day 1 · 15 to 30 min
Tell us about the business
An online questionnaire: what you do, your prices, your hours, your area, your photographs. Have none? We’ll source them and say so.
Website design · up to ten pages, live at your own address
The website has been on the list for a year, and the reason it’s still on the list is that step one is a blank page. So we took step one away. You answer a questionnaire about the work you do and the customers you want it from. A designer here draws the site from your answers and a copywriter here writes every word of it. Seven days later it’s live at your own address and you haven’t opened a builder once.
Today you pay $1 for the website plus your first month of hosting. After that hosting is $8.99 a month, billed on the same date each month until you cancel, and you can cancel in any month.
Already have one? Rebuilding a website you already have is a different job with its own page.
How it works
Everything is done in writing, so nothing lands on your calendar and you always have a record of what was agreed. Day one is the day your questionnaire arrives, whichever day of the week that is.
The week runs left to right across seven days. Day one is yours: the questionnaire, about half an hour. Days two to four are ours: design, copy, build. Day five you get a private preview link, day six we make the changes you ask for the same business day, and day seven the domain is pointed and the site is switched on.
Day 1 · 15 to 30 min
An online questionnaire: what you do, your prices, your hours, your area, your photographs. Have none? We’ll source them and say so.
Days 2 to 4 · our side
Our team does all of it - no template to pick, no font to choose, not a word to write. The designers and writers are in-house.
Days 5 to 7 · same business day
On day five you get a private preview link. Ask for changes in writing, we make them the same day, and on day seven we point your domain and switch it on.
What you get
Builders hand you an empty canvas. We hand you a finished website - written, photographed and ready to be found on Google.

Who it is for
A barber’s site and an attorney’s site shouldn’t open the same way. We find the one thing your customers came for, and put it front and center.
| Trade | What the home page leads with |
|---|---|
| Barbers and salons | A price list, this week’s hours, and a booking button someone can use at eleven at night. |
| Plumbers, electricians and carpenters | The towns you cover, the jobs you take on, and an estimate request form that reaches your inbox the moment it’s sent. |
| Cafés, bakeries and takeout spots | Today’s menu, the hours the kitchen keeps, and where to find you without opening a map. |
| Auto repair and body shops | What the everyday jobs cost, what you can fit in this week, and a booking form instead of a waiting list. |
| Cleaners, gardeners and window cleaners | The routes you cover, what a visit costs, and how often you come back. |
| Attorneys, accountants and consultants | What you specialize in, who you act for, and a first inquiry that isn’t intimidating to send. |
| Builders and landscapers | Finished work in photographs, with the size and the city of each job under it. |
| Stores and makers | A front table of what is in this week, and the hours, the parking and the map for the people who want to come in and see it. |
Not on the list? No problem - half of what we build is a trade we see once. Tell us what you do and what you want more of, and the questionnaire does the rest.
Included in the build
No starter tier with the good parts sold separately. The build is the $1; the rest rides on the hosting, with no hidden extras in either half.
What our team does
The first screen carries the one thing your customers came for and nothing else: a price list, a booking button, a portfolio, a menu. Which of those it is depends on the trade, and it’s the first decision the designer makes.
See the examplesOur writers turn your answers into real copy - what you do, who it is for, what it costs, and why you over the chain down the road.
How the pages get found on GoogleHome, services, about and contact - the five pages every site needs - plus whatever else fits: a gallery, a menu, a team page, a price list.
See what is includedA short form that reaches you - five fields, not fifteen - a booking calendar customers can use at eleven at night, and every inquiry landing in one inbox instead of three.
How the booking calendar worksImages compressed, code kept lean, served from a global CDN. A slow site loses people before it finishes loading, and that costs you inquiries.
What the hosting coversNew prices, new hours, a new photograph: change them yourself from any browser in a few clicks, with nothing technical to learn. Or send them over and our team makes the change for you, at no extra cost.
How support worksAnd what comes with it
The same build is openly sold at $1,500, which is what a US agency charges for a small business site of this size. You pay a dollar for it.
After that it’s just hosting, billed monthly: the SSL, the nightly backups, a mailbox on your own name, the dashboard and a real person to fix things, all on the one bill.
Cancel any month. No contract, no notice, no exit fee.
Questions
Anything that isn’t answered here, ask us on chat or by email: every way to reach a person here is on one page, and whoever answers knows your website.
Chat and email support$1 for the website, once, against a build that’s normally $1,500.
Your first month of hosting is paid with it, and hosting is then billed monthly on the same date until you cancel. That’s the cost of keeping any website online, and it covers the SSL certificate, the nightly backups, a mailbox, the software updates and our team making your changes for you.
Your domain is registered in your name and we run the DNS and the renewals for you. The registry’s own annual fee for the name, about $12 a year for a .com, is billed separately at cost and isn’t part of the monthly.
There’s no separate charge for the website on top of that, because the website was a dollar. Nothing else is added, it’s no more expensive than hosting bought on its own would have been, and the price doesn’t jump after a first year.
No. There’s no minimum term and no notice period. Stop the hosting in your dashboard in any month and it stops at the end of that month, with no exit fee and nobody trying to talk you out of it. Adding more later works the same way: turn on extra mailboxes, invoicing, SEO, bookings or a store when the business needs them, and turn them off again when it doesn’t.
Tell us and we change it. Nothing goes live until you have seen it and said yes, and if you’d rather stop at any point before it does, the dollar comes back in full, for any reason or none. Once it’s live, edits are unlimited for the first 30 days and we’d rather rebuild it than leave you with something you aren’t proud of.
It’s built to be found from the start. Five things go in on day one:
Nobody can promise you a position by a date, because local results settle over weeks. The SEO page sets out what is done, and how to get your business on the first page of Google gives the timings without the sales pitch.
No. Say so on the questionnaire and we source photographs that suit your trade and your town, licensed for you to use, and set your name as a wordmark where there is no logo to work from. Where a picture of your own would clearly be better we tell you which one to take and what it needs to show. You need fewer than you think: how many photographs a small business website needs works through it.
Yes, and there’s no charge for the migration. That job has a page of its own, because it’s a different job: rebuilding a website you already have keeps your words, your photographs, your reviews, your email and the search positions you have earned, and puts a permanent redirect on every old address so nothing is lost on the day it changes. The price is the same as a new build.
You do. The domain goes on the register in your name, not ours, and the words, the photographs and the customer data are yours. Ask for your files at any time and we’ll send them, with no exit fee and no notice period.
If you want to. Prices, photographs, business hours, products and text all change from a browser in a few clicks, and there’s nothing technical to learn. If you’d rather not, send the change to us instead and our team makes it for you, at no extra cost. Most people do some of each: the quick things themselves, the finicky things by asking. The help center has a short guide for each of them.
That’s where most of your visitors already are, so it’s where the design starts rather than where it gets squeezed.
Every page is drawn at three widths, the narrowest of them 360 pixels, and a page that slides sideways under a thumb doesn’t go live.
Type large enough to read without pinching, buttons large enough to hit, a menu that opens and closes, and contrast that survives daylight. Which is most of what accessibility asks of a small business site.
The unlimited-edits window closes and your plan allowance takes over.
Changes you make yourself in the dashboard stay free and unlimited. Changes you send us are two a month on Basic and as many as you send on Complete: send them on chat or by email and our team does them.
The hosting carries on covering the mailbox, the SSL certificate, the nightly backups, the software updates and the DNS and the renewals on your domain, billed monthly at exactly what it was the month before. Only the registry’s own annual fee for the domain name sits outside it, about $12 a year for a .com, billed separately at cost.
The uptime and restore times are set out on the service level page. Cancel in any month you like.
