The work
Small business website examples, sorted by the trade each one was drawn for
A hundred and twenty of them: a bakery in Portland, a roofing company in Worcester, an urgent care clinic in Denver, a chess academy in St. Louis. These are example designs rather than client sites, each one drawn by a designer and written by a copywriter to show what a real site for that trade would carry.
Look at them the way a customer would. None of these started from a template grid, and none of them were finished by the owner at eleven at night. That’s the point of the exercise: the same seven days and the same $1 produced all of them, and they don’t look like each other.
Today you pay $1 for the website plus your first month of hosting. After that hosting is $8.99 a month, billed on the same date each month until you cancel, and you can cancel in any month. The .com is included on the Complete plan at $18.99 a month. On Basic at $8.99 a month the name is registered in your own name and run for you, and the registry’s own annual fee for it, about $12 a year, is billed separately at cost.
Food and drink
Websites for food and drink
Menus written as text rather than locked in a PDF, hours a search engine can read, and a booking or ordering path that doesn’t hand a commission to someone else.
Shops
Websites for shops
A shop with a front door. What is on the shelves, the hours, the parking and a map, so the people who search end up at the counter.
Trades and services
Websites for trades and services
Service areas in words, licenses in plain sight, and a number that dials when someone taps it on a phone in a wet hallway.

Fitness and wellness
Websites for fitness and wellness
Timetables that are right this week, memberships that explain themselves, and a class booking that works at ten at night.
Health
Websites for health
Insurance and cost answered before the phone rings, the first visit described in plain words, and new patients booked without a callback.
Beauty and grooming
Websites for beauty and grooming
The full price list on the page, a page for each person behind a chair, and deposits held on the appointments that hurt when they no-show.
Childcare and learning
Websites for childcare and learning
Term dates, ratios, fees and the tour booking. Parents are reading for reassurance and for logistics, usually in that order.
Property
Websites for property
Listings, valuations, closings and management. Long consideration purchases where the site is doing the work a referral used to do.
About these
What you are looking at
These are the sites our designers and copywriters build, made for the trades listed above and shown here as the work. Nobody on this page is being held up as a case study with numbers attached, because we aren’t going to put a percentage under a photograph and hope you don’t ask where it came from.
What they are good for is judging the thing you can judge from the outside: whether the pages are laid out by someone who thought about the business, whether the words sound like a person, and whether a bakery and a title company end up looking like the same website with a different logo on it. They don’t, and that’s the argument.
If you want to know what happens between your questionnaire and a live site, the websites page has the seven days in order. If you already have a site and it’s the problem, a website redesign starts from the same place.
- 120 sites, 8 kinds of business
- Every word written by a copywriter
- Seven days from questionnaire to live
- $1 once, then the hosting
The whole price list is on the pricing page, and what a website costs puts it next to the market.
The offer
Yours belongs on this page too
Answer the questionnaire and a designer draws your pages while a copywriter writes them around what you sell. Live in seven days for $1, then hosting at $8.99 a month.

The same build is openly sold at $1,500, which is what a US agency charges for a small business site of this size. No contract, no minimum term and no exit fee.
