Eleven pay-monthly website rates, and the term under each
The month you cancel is the last month you pay
Anyone who has tried to leave a gym knows the shape of it: the price was the easy part, and the term was in the paragraph nobody read at the desk. Website plans have that same layer underneath. SiteMonth prints “No Contract” directly above a setup fee of $399. Jabz asks for nothing up front and then makes the first twelve payments non-refundable, which is a commitment of $1,188 however it is described. Wix publishes no monthly-billing price at all. Here the build is $1 once and hosting is $8.99 a month, with no setup fee bolted on and nothing owed after the month you stop.
sitemonth.com read September 3, 2026 jabzwebdesign.com read September 3, 2026Today you pay $1 for the website plus your first month of hosting. After that hosting is $8.99 a month, billed on the same date each month until you cancel, and you can cancel in any month.
The monthly rates
What each one charges a month, and what is committed underneath
The advertised monthly is the easy number. The column beside it is the one that decides what you are signing up to: a setup fee on top, a run of payments you can’t get back, or a rate that’s only real if you pay a year at once.
| Who, and on what terms | Per month | What is committed underneath | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| DEVIQOThis site Basic hosting. The website is $1 once, and this is the full monthly charge. No setup fee on top of it and no minimum term. | $8.99billed monthly, cancel any month | Nothing underneath it. No contract, no minimum term and no exit fee. Cancel in any month from the dashboard. | This page. Prices from our own price table. |
| UENI Website Launch, billed monthly, with a one-time setup fee alongside it. | $24.99a month, plus setup | A setup fee of $79 on top of the first month, advertised against a list setup of $599. | ueni.com/pricing read September 3, 2026 |
| SiteMonth Standard, billed monthly. The plan page prints the words “No Contract” directly above the setup fee. | $79a month, plus setup | A one-time setup fee of $399, on the same page and above the same line that reads “No Contract”. | sitemonth.com read September 3, 2026 |
| Jabz Web Design Starter Website. Nothing is asked for up front, which is the part the headline rests on. | $99a month, no setup | The first twelve monthly payments are required and non-refundable, so the least you can spend is $1,188 whatever happens after month one. | jabzwebdesign.com read September 3, 2026 |
| B12 Professional, the done-for-you tier, billed monthly. A cheaper do-it-yourself tier sits on the same page. | $199a month, done-for-you tier | No separate setup fee is published. This is the assisted price, and the self-serve tier below it is a different product with your labor in place of theirs. | b12.io/pricing read September 3, 2026 |
| Wix Light. The rate on the plans page is a yearly subscription, paid in full at purchase. | $17a month, billed a year at a time | No monthly-billing price is published anywhere on the plans page. The figure shown is a yearly plan divided by twelve and paid up front, so month one is a year’s bill. | wix.com/plans read September 3, 2026 |
| Squarespace Basic. The advertised rate is the annual one; billed month to month it is $21. | $16a month, only if you pay a year up front | The lower number needs twelve months paid at once. Choose true monthly billing and the same plan is $21 a month. | squarespace.com/pricing, currency set to USD read September 3, 2026 |
| Webflow Basic site plan. Billed monthly it is $25; the lower rate needs annual billing. | $15a month, billed annually | Month to month the plan is $25, and either way it’s software to build on rather than a finished, written site. | webflow.com/pricing read September 3, 2026 |
| Hostinger Unlimited. This is the true one-month rate; the longer terms are cheaper up front and then renew. | $18.99a month, on the one-month term | The advertised $4.99 a month needs a longer term bought in one payment, and that rate renews at $16.99. | hostinger.com/web-hosting read September 3, 2026 |
| WordPress.com Personal, billed annually rather than monthly. The rate shown is the first-term one. | $4a month, billed a year at a time | Paid a year at a time, and the first-term rate renews higher at $5 a month. | wordpress.com/pricing, country set to US read September 3, 2026 |
| IONOS Starter, on a one-year minimum term. The rate shown is the introductory one. | $6a month, first term only | A one-year minimum term, then it renews at $14 a month. The list price beside it is $18. | ionos.com/websites/website-builder read September 3, 2026 |
Every figure above was read from the vendor’s own public pricing page on September 3, 2026, in USD, and the source is printed in the row. Prices move, and a vendor can change one the day after this was written, so check the source before you rely on it. Anything we couldn’t read from a United States connection is marked not verified instead of guessed at. The rate shown for Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, WordPress.com and IONOS is the one their own page leads with; where that rate needs annual billing or a minimum term to be real, it’s said in the row.
The four things a monthly hides
A low monthly can hide four different bills
None of these is against the rules and none of them is hidden on purpose. They’re the four places the real cost of a pay-monthly plan tends to sit, one line down from the headline.
01
A setup fee on top
The monthly isn’t the only bill. UENI adds a setup fee of $79 and SiteMonth one of $399, each charged alongside the first month. ueni.com/pricing read September 3, 2026sitemonth.com read September 3, 2026
02
A committed term under “no contract”
Jabz Web Design asks nothing up front, then requires twelve non-refundable payments, a floor of $1,188. SiteMonth prints “No Contract” above its setup fee. jabzwebdesign.com read September 3, 2026
03
A monthly that’s billed yearly
Wix publishes no monthly-billing price; the rate is a year paid in full. wix.com/plans read September 3, 2026 Squarespace’s $16 needs a year up front, against $21 paid monthly. squarespace.com/pricing, currency set to USD read September 3, 2026
04
An introductory rate that renews
Hostinger moves from $4.99 to $16.99, IONOS from $6 to $14. hostinger.com/web-hosting read September 3, 2026ionos.com/websites/website-builder read September 3, 2026
Nothing up front, twelve monthly payments required and non-refundable. That’s a commitment with a friendlier name.
Read as it is written, from a real US vendor’s own pay-monthly terms. jabzwebdesign.com read September 3, 2026Our monthly is the opposite of all four: one rate, billed a month at a time, no fee bolted on, no run of payments you can’t stop, and no renewal step. The build is paid once, and the hosting is the only thing that recurs. The hosting page sets out what the monthly carries, line by line.
Questions
What people ask next
Can I pay monthly for a website with no setup fee?
Here, yes. The website itself is $1 once, and after that you pay hosting at $8.99 a month and nothing else. There’s no separate setup charge bolted onto the monthly, no minimum term and no exit fee. Today you pay $1 for the website plus your first month of hosting. After that hosting is $8.99 a month, billed on the same date each month until you cancel, and you can cancel in any month.
Several pay-monthly offers in the table above do carry a setup fee: UENI lists one at $79 and SiteMonth at $399, each on top of the monthly. ueni.com/pricing read September 3, 2026 sitemonth.com read September 3, 2026
What does “no contract” mean on these plans?
Read the line underneath it. SiteMonth prints “No Contract” directly above a one-time setup fee of $399. sitemonth.com read September 3, 2026 Jabz Web Design asks for nothing up front, but the first twelve monthly payments are required and non-refundable, which is a $1,188 commitment whatever you call it. jabzwebdesign.com read September 3, 2026
Ours means what it says: no minimum term, cancel in any month, and the hosting stops at the end of that month with nothing owed after it. It’s also written into the refunds and cancellation policy.
Is a low monthly the same as monthly billing?
Not always. Wix publishes no monthly-billing price at all; the rate on its plans page is a yearly subscription paid in full at purchase, so the first payment is a whole year. wix.com/plans read September 3, 2026 Squarespace advertises $16 a month, but that needs a year up front; billed month to month the same plan is $21. squarespace.com/pricing, currency set to USD read September 3, 2026 WordPress.com and IONOS bill annually too. Ours is billed monthly, in month-sized payments.
Why is the monthly cheaper here than the done-for-you vendors?
Because the monthly here is hosting, not the website. The build is paid once at $1, so the recurring figure only has to carry the SSL certificate, the nightly backups, a mailbox on your own name, the software updates and the changes we make for you. Vendors that fold the build into a monthly have to keep charging for it, which is why B12’s done-for-you tier is $199 a month. b12.io/pricing read September 3, 2026
Does the introductory rate go up after the first year?
Ours doesn’t. The $8.99 is the standing rate, not a first-year teaser. Three of the builder rows renew higher: Hostinger moves from $4.99 to $16.99, IONOS from $6 to $14, and WordPress.com from $4 to $5. hostinger.com/web-hosting read September 3, 2026 ionos.com/websites/website-builder read September 3, 2026 wordpress.com/pricing, country set to US read September 3, 2026
What about the domain on a pay-monthly plan?
The .com is included on the Complete plan at $18.99 a month. On Basic at $8.99 a month the name is registered in your own name and run for you, and the registry’s own annual fee for it, about $12 a year, is billed separately at cost. Most included domains elsewhere cover twelve months and then renew at the vendor’s price, which is a second bill the monthly hides. Year one against year two sets out what each of them charges.
Do I own the site if I stop paying?
The domain is registered in your own name, and the words, the photographs and the customer data are yours to take. Ask for your files at any time and we send them, with no exit fee and no notice period. What stops when you cancel is the hosting, the same way it would with anyone. It’s set out in the terms of service.
