Wix Light against the build here, over twenty-four months
A Wix plan is the software. Someone still has to write the words.
You pick the template on a Tuesday and by Thursday you’re still rewriting the services page. The subscription bought an editor and a library of layouts; choosing one, laying out the pages, finding photographs that aren’t obviously stock and writing every line about your prices and the towns you cover is the part that takes the week. Here a designer draws it and a writer writes it from a questionnaire that takes about half an hour, and the site is live in seven days. The build is $1 and the hosting after it is $8.99 a month, billed monthly. Wix Light is $17 a month, and its plans page prices are yearly subscriptions paid in full at purchase.

The same six questions, answered for each
Read down the point on the left, then across. The prices are two years of fees at each vendor’s own published rate, and every Wix line is sourced from its own pages.

Every figure above was read from the vendor’s own public pricing page on September 3, 2026, in USD, and the source is printed in the row. Prices move, and a vendor can change one the day after this was written, so check the source before you rely on it. Anything we couldn’t read from a United States connection is marked not verified instead of guessed at. The DEVIQO cells come from the same price table the rest of the site reads. The Wix cells are read from its plans and support pages, in USD, on the date shown.
What a subscription doesn’t do
The four jobs Wix leaves with you
A builder plan is the cost of the software. These are the four pieces of work it doesn’t include, and the reason a template on a screen isn’t the same as a website that’s finished.
01
Choosing and shaping the template
Wix supplies templates; a template is a starting point, not a design. Turning one into your site is your afternoon, or ours. wix.com/plans read September 3, 2026
02
Writing the words
No builder writes your services, your prices and your area for you. Here a writer does, from a short questionnaire, and it’s inside the $1.
03
The domain is a one-year voucher
Wix’s included .com is a voucher, redeemable within 60 days, first-time yearly upgrades only, with no renewal price published. support.wix.com, "Choosing a Premium plan" read September 3, 2026
04
The bill is a year, up front
The plans page prices are yearly subscriptions paid in full at purchase, so month one is a year’s payment. Ours is billed a month at a time. wix.com/plans read September 3, 2026
The displayed prices are for yearly subscriptions paid in full; the final price is shown on the purchase page.
Wix, read from its own plans page. wix.com/plans read September 3, 2026If building it yourself is the part you want, a builder is a fair tool and we won’t pretend otherwise. If the build is the part you’d rather hand over, that’s what we do. The websites page sets out what the seven days contain.
Questions
What people ask next
Is Wix cheaper than DEVIQO?
Over two years the Wix Light plan comes to $408 at $17 a month billed yearly, against $240.76 here for the build and two years of hosting. wix.com/plans read September 3, 2026
But the two buy different things. The Wix figure buys the software you’ll build the site with. Ours buys a site our team designs, writes and builds for you, so the closer question is which one leaves you with a website.
Does Wix build the website for me?
No. Wix gives you templates, an editor and, on some plans, an assisted setup, but the choosing, the writing, the photographs and the layout are yours to do. wix.com/plans read September 3, 2026 That’s the core difference: a builder hands you the tools, and we hand you the finished site, live in seven days, with the design and the words already done.
Can I pay Wix monthly instead of a year up front?
Not at the advertised price. Wix’s plans page states that the displayed prices are for yearly subscriptions paid in full, and that the final price can be seen on the purchase page. wix.com/plans read September 3, 2026 So the first payment is a whole year. Ours is $8.99 a month, billed monthly, and you can cancel in any month.
What happens to the Wix domain in the second year?
The included domain is a one-year voucher, redeemable within 60 days, on first-time yearly upgrades only. support.wix.com, "Choosing a Premium plan" read September 3, 2026 No .com renewal price is published, so what year two costs isn’t stated up front. Here the .com is included in the monthly on Complete, or the registry’s own fee at cost, about $12 a year, on Basic.
Do I own my site if I leave?
A Wix site is built and hosted on Wix, so it lives on their platform. Here the domain is registered in your own name, and the words, the photographs and the customer data are yours to take; ask for your files at any time and we send them, with no exit fee. Today you pay $1 for the website plus your first month of hosting. After that hosting is $8.99 a month, billed on the same date each month until you cancel, and you can cancel in any month.
Can I still change the site myself, like I would on Wix?
Yes. You can edit your own pages from the dashboard whenever you like, the same way you would in a builder, and if you’d rather not, send the change over and we make it for you. You get the do-it-yourself control without having to do the first build yourself.
Which is right for me, Wix or DEVIQO?
If you enjoy building things, have the time, and want to lay the site out yourself, a builder like Wix is a fair choice and we’ll say so. If you’d rather answer a few questions and have a written, designed site live in a week without touching a template, that’s what we do, for $1 and then hosting.
The offer
Skip the build, keep the control
Our team designs, writes and builds your site and puts it live in seven days, for $1 and then hosting at $8.99 a month. Edit it yourself whenever you like, or send the change to us. You keep your weekend, and you pay a month at a time.
Today you pay $1 for the website plus your first month of hosting. After that hosting is $8.99 a month, billed on the same date each month until you cancel, and you can cancel in any month. The .com is included on the Complete plan at $18.99 a month. On Basic at $8.99 a month the name is registered in your own name and run for you, and the registry’s own annual fee for it, about $12 a year, is billed separately at cost.
The same build is openly sold at $1,500, which is what a US agency charges for a small business site of this size. No contract, no minimum term and no exit fee: cancel in any month from the dashboard.
