Website design for roofers

Roofing website design for storm season and the six months after it

Roofing has the hardest trust problem of any trade, and it isn’t your fault. Every homeowner has heard about the crew that appeared after a hailstorm, took a deposit and left. So the roofing website that wins is the one most obviously run by a company that will still exist in April.

Two things bring people to a roofing site. Something is leaking, or something happened to the neighborhood last night. The leak is a small, urgent, winnable job. The storm is a claim, and a claim customer is reading for evidence that you have handled adjusters before and won’t disappear halfway through.

Today you pay $1 for the website plus your first month of hosting. After that hosting is $8.99 a month, billed on the same date each month until you cancel, and you can cancel in any month. The .com is included on the Complete plan at $18.99 a month. On Basic at $8.99 a month the name is registered in your own name and run for you, and the registry’s own annual fee for it, about $12 a year, is billed separately at cost.

  • Seven days. From your answers to a live site, written and drawn by hand.
  • $1 once. The same build is openly sold at $1,500, which is what a US agency charges for a small business site of this size.
  • Cancel any month. No contract, no notice period, no exit fee.

What the site has to prove

Four things a roofing site has to settle in the first ten seconds

These are the questions your visitor is holding while they scroll, and a site that leaves any of them open sends the work to whoever answered it.

01

Local, and provably so

Address, years in the area, the name of the person who owns the company, and photographs of roofs on streets people recognize. Everything that separates you from an out-of-state crew with a phone number.

02

The insurance claim, explained step by step

What the adjuster does, what you do, what the deductible means, what supplements are. Written without promising an outcome. This page alone brings in work, because nobody else in your market has written it well.

03

Warranties, both of them

The manufacturer warranty on the material and your workmanship warranty, stated separately with their real terms. Homeowners conflate the two and the company that untangles it looks like the professional one.

04

Before and after, on real roofs

Same angle, two photographs, the town and the material named underneath. It’s the only proof that matters in this trade and it’s the thing most roofing sites replace with a catalog picture.

The build

The pages we would draw and write for roofing companies

This is a starting structure. You tell us what you sell in the questionnaire and the map changes to match, which is most of what done-for-you website design means when a person is doing it.

  1. Home The leak path, the storm path, and enough evidence of a real local company to hold both.
  2. Roof replacement Materials, timeline, what happens to the yard, and what a typical square costs.
  3. Roof repair The small urgent job, priced, because it’s how most customers meet you.
  4. Storm and hail damage What to do in the first 48 hours, and what a free inspection includes.
  5. Insurance claims The whole process, in order, in plain English, with no promised outcome.
  6. Gutters, siding and exteriors The attached work, if you do it, with its own prices.
  7. Financing If you offer it, the terms as your lender writes them.
  8. Our work Before and after by town and material, captioned.
  9. Contact and free inspection A form that asks the age of the roof and what they have noticed.

Every word on those pages is written by a copywriter from your answers, not generated from a template and not left as filler for you to replace on a Sunday night. If you already have a site and the problem is what is on it, a website redesign starts from the same questionnaire.

What we keep seeing

What is wrong with most roofing websites

We look at a lot of these. The same handful of problems come up again and again, and none of them are about taste.

No address anywhere on the site

In a trade defined by storm chasers, refusing to publish where you are based is the single most expensive omission on the page. Even a mailing address in the footer changes how the site reads.

Free inspection with no definition

Everybody offers it, so it means nothing. Say what you climb, what you photograph, what you hand over afterward and how long it takes, and it starts meaning something again.

Promising the claim will be approved

It isn’t yours to promise, and it’s the sentence that gets a roofing company in trouble. Explain the process, describe your part in it, and stop there.

The price

One build, then the hosting, and nothing else

The whole price list is public and it fits in a paragraph. There’s no quote to request and no discovery call to sit through.

The build

$1once

Designed, written and built by our team, live in seven days. The same build is openly sold at $1,500, which is what a US agency charges for a small business site of this size.

Basic hosting

$8.99a month

Hosting, business email, SSL and nightly backups. Your domain is registered in your own name and run for you; the registry’s own annual fee for it, about $12 a year for a .com, is billed separately at cost.

Complete hosting

$18.99a month

Everything in Basic, and the .com itself is included in the monthly rather than billed on to you. One bill, nothing to renew separately.

The whole price list, and what each plan carries, is on the pricing page. If you want to know what everyone else charges first, what a small business website costs puts our number next to the market, with every competitor figure sourced and dated.

Questions

What roofing companies ask us next

Will a new website help after a storm?

It helps most in the two weeks after, when everybody in the zip code is searching at once and comparing four companies. What it won’t do is outrank a national lead aggregator overnight. It’ll win the people who checked whether you’re real.

Should I publish roofing prices?

Publish a range and the things that move it: pitch, layers, decking, material. Homeowners know a roof isn’t a fixed price. What they resent is a site that will not even say which thousand it starts in.

Can I add job photographs myself?

Yes, from a phone, in the dashboard, the same afternoon you finish the roof. That habit is worth more to this site than any other single thing you can do to it.

What about the neighborhoods I work in?

Name them in the copy and give the two or three that generate work their own paragraph. If you want the whole metro covered over time, that is what our local web design pages and local SEO are for.

Written for other trades too

Every trade we have written a page for is listed in one place, and the trades we haven’t written yet get the same site anyway.
