Website design for HVAC companies

HVAC website design that sells the maintenance plan, not just the breakdown

An HVAC business has two websites inside it. One is for the ninety-five degree Tuesday when a system dies and someone calls the first company that answers. The other is for the slow week in October when a homeowner is finally pricing a replacement and reading three sites carefully. Most HVAC sites are built for the first and lose the second.

The business you want is the third one, which nobody searches for by name: the maintenance agreement. It smooths the year, it makes the replacement sale later, and it’s sold almost entirely by a well-written page and a clear price. We build that page and we put it in front of every emergency customer the day after you fix their unit.

Today you pay $1 for the website plus your first month of hosting. After that hosting is $8.99 a month, billed on the same date each month until you cancel, and you can cancel in any month. The .com is included on the Complete plan at $18.99 a month. On Basic at $8.99 a month the name is registered in your own name and run for you, and the registry’s own annual fee for it, about $12 a year, is billed separately at cost.

  • Seven days. From your answers to a live site, written and drawn by hand.
  • $1 once. The same build is openly sold at $1,500, which is what a US agency charges for a small business site of this size.
  • Cancel any month. No contract, no notice period, no exit fee.

What the site has to prove

Four things an HVAC site has to settle in the first ten seconds

These are the questions your visitor is holding while they scroll, and a site that leaves any of them open sends the work to whoever answered it.

01

Emergency and replacement, split cleanly

One path for the person whose air conditioning quit an hour ago, with hours, a response window and a number. A separate path for the person pricing a new system, with sizing, efficiency, brands and finance. They aren’t the same visitor and one page can’t hold both.

02

The maintenance plan, priced

What it costs a month, what visits it includes, what the discount is on repairs, and whether plan holders jump the line in July. Published. A plan page with a number on it converts; a plan page that says call for details doesn’t.

03

Financing, said out loud

A system replacement is the second largest unplanned purchase most households make. If you offer financing, that belongs on the replacement page in the first paragraph, with the terms as your lender states them.

04

Brands and what you carry

People search by brand. If you’re a dealer for a name, say which, and say which systems you’ll service even though you didn’t install them, because that sentence wins a lot of calls.

The build

The pages we would draw and write for HVAC companies

This is a starting structure. You tell us what you sell in the questionnaire and the map changes to match, which is most of what done-for-you website design means when a person is doing it.

  1. Home Emergency on one side, replacement on the other, and the plan running underneath.
  2. Air conditioning repair Common failures, what the diagnostic costs, and how fast you get there in season.
  3. Heating repair Furnaces and heat pumps, the safety checks, and the carbon monoxide conversation.
  4. System replacement Sizing, efficiency ratings, ductwork, the timeline and the finance options.
  5. Maintenance plans The tiers, the price, the visits, and what plan holders get in a heat wave.
  6. Indoor air quality Filtration, humidifiers, duct cleaning, and what does and doesn’t help.
  7. Service areas The towns, in words, with your in-season response time by area.
  8. About the company How long, how many trucks, who trains the techs, and the licenses.
  9. Contact and booking The dispatch form, the number, and a calendar for the tune-up season.

Every word on those pages is written by a copywriter from your answers, not generated from a template and not left as filler for you to replace on a Sunday night. If you already have a site and the problem is what is on it, a website redesign starts from the same questionnaire.

What we keep seeing

What is wrong with most HVAC websites

We look at a lot of these. The same handful of problems come up again and again, and none of them are about taste.

A maintenance plan page with no price

The whole point of a plan is that it’s an easy yes. Making someone call to find out what an easy yes costs turns it back into a hard one.

Seasonal copy that goes stale

A banner about getting ready for winter, still sitting there in June, tells every visitor that nobody has touched the site in six months. Two seasonal blocks that you swap yourself in ten seconds solve it.

Burying the response time

In the middle of a heat wave, the only question is when. A company that publishes a same-day or next-day window in season beats a company with better reviews and no stated window.

The price

One build, then the hosting, and nothing else

The whole price list is public and it fits in a paragraph. There’s no quote to request and no discovery call to sit through.

The build

$1once

Designed, written and built by our team, live in seven days. The same build is openly sold at $1,500, which is what a US agency charges for a small business site of this size.

Basic hosting

$8.99a month

Hosting, business email, SSL and nightly backups. Your domain is registered in your own name and run for you; the registry’s own annual fee for it, about $12 a year for a .com, is billed separately at cost.

Complete hosting

$18.99a month

Everything in Basic, and the .com itself is included in the monthly rather than billed on to you. One bill, nothing to renew separately.

The whole price list, and what each plan carries, is on the pricing page. If you want to know what everyone else charges first, what a small business website costs puts our number next to the market, with every competitor figure sourced and dated.

Questions

What HVAC companies ask us next

Should the site push repair or replacement?

Both, on separate paths. Repair brings the volume and the relationship. Replacement brings the margin. A site that only chases replacement reads as pushy, and a site that only handles repair leaves the big jobs to whoever wrote a better page.

Can the site take tune-up bookings in shoulder season?

Yes, and that’s the best use of the booking system in this trade. Open a block of spring and fall tune-up slots, let people take them at ten at night, and stop paying someone to run that list by phone.

How do I keep the seasonal messaging current?

You change two blocks from the dashboard when the season turns, which takes about a minute, or you email us and we do it. Nothing about it needs a developer.

Is one site enough if I do commercial too?

Usually yes, with a full commercial section instead of a line on the home page. Rooftop units, service contracts and after-hours coverage are a different sale and need their own words.

Written for other trades too

Every trade we have written a page for is listed in one place, and the trades we haven’t written yet get the same site anyway.
